Ducati 125 Grand Prix

.

Once again i cannot resist to repost a fabulous Bike i found on the amazing Bike Exif site and once again i have to say thanks Chris for your deramin' work.

I’ve often thought that the appeal of racing motorcycles is in their sculptural qualities. And despite the charmless name, there are few things more elegant than a ‘dustbin’ fairing from the 1950s. This one is an exceptionally beautiful example, and a testament to the metalworker’s skill. It was created for a 1955 Ducati 125 Grand Prix prototype, a machine based on the 100cc Gran Sport designed by Fabio Taglioni. Nestling in the frame is a single-cylinder DOHC ‘Bialbero’ engine: in Grand Prix trim, it produced a 16hp at a heady 10,500rpm... Read more

By the late 1960’s, many of the European motocross manufacturers had started building larger-bore two-stroke machines to compete in the premier 500cc class. The British four-stroke machines were no longer omnipotent in motocross, and the Czechoslovakian CZ brand had been first to capitalize on the booming two-stroke market with the twin-port CZ360. Factory CZ rider Paul Friedrichs rewarded them with 500cc World Motocross Championships in 1966, ’67 and ’68.

Yvon Duhamel

.

Yvon Duhamel (born October 17, 1939 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is a French-Canadian professional motorcycle racer and father to current AMA Superbike roadracer Miguel Duhamel. He won the World Championship Snowmobile Derby in 1970. He was also a very active ice racer, using hockey shin pads to allow him to lean over farther, scraping his knee on the ice rather than merely sliding his foot as did speedway racers.

Classic Motocross Title

.

Via : www.adelaidenow.com.au

Murray Williams and sidecar passenger Tom Lang will contest the Classic Motocross Title at Crystal Brook. Picture: Matt Turner

When Tom Lang turns 26 on Monday he'll have been alive for half as long as Murray Williams has been racing motorbikes.

The unlikely pair hope their combination of youth and experience can secure an early birthday present when the Australian Classic Motocross Championships wraps up this Sunday at Crystal Brook.
Mr Lang and Mr Williams, 74, will compete in two sidecar classes during the event, riding a 1981 Norton Wasp 920 and 1965 Triumph Bonneville Ariel 650.
Mr Williams began racing bikes in Woomera back in 1959. Now a 10-time Australian sidecar champion, he has no plans to hang up the helmet.
When he was looking for a passenger for the Championships he found in Mr Lang someone who, despite the age difference, shared an equal passion for vintage motorcycles.

Abnormal Cycles Union

.

Via : Bike Exif

Once again Chris from Bike Exif did a great shot with this fabulous post he made about Abnormal Cycles Union.

This is one of the more unusual motorcycles that appeared in the recent AMD Championship. Unusual because it’s perfectly rideable, and also because it was the first time a sidecar outfit has competed in Sturgis. ‘Union’ was built by Abnormal Cycles of Italy, a workshop that has come a long way since we featured its BMW café racer over a year ago. The Bernareggio-based company created an Art Deco-inspired sidecar—complete with wood trim—and hooked it up to a 1942 Harley-Davidson Model U.
